Friends of the Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park
General Meeting
December 3, 2003
Vice President Bob Hull called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.
Attendance on sign-up sheet attached to secretary's copy of minutes.
Jerry Moser moved to approve the minutes from our last meeting; Annette Slater seconded. Passed unanimously.

Jerry gave the Treasurer’s Report Beginning balance was $5,260.24. We added $712 in receipts, of which $500 was a grant from a foundation interest in outdoor activities, which Sylvia had applied for on our behalf. Jerry’s suggestion is that we will want to
identify w/ Park Staff a specific project for this grant money such as Bird Blind or
Viewing Platform/ We had disbursements of $42. $5,930.24 is our new balance.

Jerry also reported on the nominations committee with thanks to Annette Slater and Diane Azcarate who served with him. The proposed slate for 2012 is:
President: Vic Crane
Vice President: Bob Hull for 1 more year.
Secretary: Susan Ansara
Treasurer: 2 candidates Melissa Kosier. Fred Yellon
Board members: Al Kruger – new Board applicant
Jackye Meinecke, Winifred Jahnke and Jerry Moser will run as continuing Board
Thanks expressed to the Nominating Committee for their hard work.

Bob highlighted the new images from critter cam - on view on photo frame in visitors center, both the camera and the frame provided by the Friends. Thanks to Park Staff for help with placement and logistics.

Park Passes will be distributed at Jan. meeting.

Quilt - Las Colcheras Quilt Guild donation for raffle. The raffle will conclude with the drawing at the Anniversary Event next Sat.

The December 10 Anniversary Event hours are from 3 to 7pm. The event will begin with a bird walk (led by LuAnn and CJ). At. 4:30, Luminaria lighting. 5 p.m. Xmas tree lighting. Dreidel explanation, Menorah lighting if available. Food donations are coming in. Mariachis, other groups for entertainment are being finalized. Hot chocolate/coffee/tea cider will be available and organized by David Crider SW Expeditions. Orlando is coordinating the event. Volunteers are needed Friday 8-5 for set up. Approval to waive  parking fee received last night. Donation box will be out.

Eagle Scout is doing a shade structure and should be finished by that date. . Ribboncutting
